Speaking of that, I still have the small, wooden rocking chair my parents gave me when I was a child so many moons ago.  In fact, I plan to pass it on to my children when I have them one of these days.  I guess it makes us feel somewhat immortal to be able to pass things down to our children and give them a bit of a legacy that keeps us in their memories long after we’re gone.

original bandana flowerDon’t we all feel the need at times to get in touch with our past?  Or, at least, reflect on our glory days when we were in a purple haze or simply chillin’ out listening to popular songs which made us think we could change the world.  So how does the original bandana flower tie in with our memories of those long ago days and an area rug?

Well, that’s quite simple actually because with the original bandana flower we can add a piece of “floor art” to our child’s room decor and teach them a little bit of history from our not-so-distant past.  Maybe you can tell them of the time when you first saw some of the legends of folk music perform live or when you first heard them on the radio.  You may also tell your children when you wore beads on your clothes or flowers in your hair and how all that tied in with political history.

Wrapped Up In Big Plush Toys

big plush toysHaven’t you always dreamed of being wrapped up by a soft, plushy octopus?  Well, you would if you were into big plush toys.  And, in particular, these two animated octupuses.

Not only will your son or daughter enjoy playing with this bright blue octopus with the funny little hat, but, they will have an extra one for added fun when a friend comes over or, if they wish, sharing one with a sibling (yeah, right).  Now before you get any ideas, this little guy is only for playing with and not for your next course of sushi.  This little guy is so adorable everyone in the family will love him.

One of the best features about this octopus is that he doesn’t need water or an aquarium.  Although, he may need some cleaning from time to time.  Big plush toys are a great friend for any boy or girl and deserve a great home where they will no doubt find that friend snuggled up with them at night in a warm bed.

The Art Of Alphabet Art

alphabet artNo doubt you’re thinking, “How can there be art in the alphabet?”  Actually, there can be quite a bit of art in the alphabet.  One simply has to look and listen.

Picture your child zigzaging like a zebra, or imitating a train, or screeching like a monkey, or forming an “E” like an elephant.  If you have any doubts, put them aside because alphabet art will do exactly that while helping them learn their “ABC’s”.  Now that you’ve heard the noisy side of learning their alphabet art, what else is involved in capturing the foundation of their education?

Think about teaching them the shapes of the alphabet in the form of various animals like: an octopus, a monkey, a kangaroo; everyday items like: a train, ladders, a violin; and so on.  It’s not a far stretch to helping your little one realize how easy it is to associate letters with with the world around them.  Just imagine what forming their alphabet will do for them in achieving their goals when all they have to do is look around their environment for the answers.
